Quarterly Newsletter
As always Mickey will give us her periodic newsletter.
| Hello Everybody.
Some important news information. 1. The kids are almost finished with their web site. It is http://www.chavalosnica.com Please do go visit and see what they have to say. They have done all the art work and content themselves, so some of the English is not perfect, but the heart is perfect. Those of you who sponsor kids, look for your kid’s page under “Los Chavalos” header. They aren’t all there yet, but by the end of next week should be all complete. 2. All email addresses are changed. Where an email address was luis@chavalosnica.com, it is now luis@chavalosnicas.com. This was a necessary change when our web host experienced a pirate attack. Note the only change is the addition of s at the end of chavalosnica. Please change your email address books to reflect this change. 3. Please continue to pray for sponsors. I am currently supporting more than a dozen kids in my pocket, and we have another six or seven who are still in public school and are believing to receive help so that they can get a decent education. 4. We are now affiliated with LivingTreeAcademy in Tennessee, and they are 501 3c, so your sponsorship can be tax deductible. If you are already sponsoring a child and would like to switch your sponsorship to that tax deductible status, please write me and I will co-ordinate with LTA. They require certain documents for each child who is sponsored under their program and it is a matter of our getting those documents taken care of. If you are interested in starting a new sponsorship, taking on an additional child, or restarting a dropped sponsorship, let me know or write directly to Shannon at LTA: lta.mailus@gmail.com. LTA has a list of kids waiting for and needing sponsors. Also, by visiting the Chavalos Nica web site, and looking at “Los Chavalos” in the next few weeks, you will be able to ‘meet’ kids who are in need of sponsors and may find the kid for you. 5. Below is some banking information. Ray Littlefield (one of our sponsors) has worked with me to open a US bank account that makes it easier for you to transfer funds to your kid. If you will be sponsoring through LTA, you will send your checks to them, however if you are continuing as is, you can now do a direct deposit to the US bank using the information below, or send a check to Ray and he can make the deposit. Either way, I will be able to have access to the funds much quicker now. (Sue, you can continue doing the direct deposit to BAC or change to this new bank – whichever works best for you). 6. John Blomquist is constructing a blog designed especially for sponsors of the Chavalos Nica program. It is a place where all of you can get to know each other and perhaps share things about your kid or your experience with them that are special to you. I’m sure John may be having a stroke about now from reading this because he might not be quite ready for company at the blog, so if you go and it isn’t ready, be patient. The address for the blog is: http://www.chavalosnicas.com/chavblog The kids and I love all of you lots, and pray continually for God’s wonderful joy in your lives.
